Description:
No Panic is a voluntary organisation that aims to aid the relief
and recovery of people who suffer from panic attacks, phobias, obsessive
compulsive disorders, and other related anxiety disorders, including
tranquilliser withdrawal.
As well as providing a range of information and support services
via post and telephone for people with abnormal anxiety, No Panic
uses teleconferencing facilities to run Telephone Recovery Groups.
A Telephone Recovery Group takes one hour a week for twelve weeks.
Each group has six members and a trained leader and uses cognitive
and behavioural techniques to help members manage and reduce anxiety
related problems. The aim is to provide relief from current symptoms
and to equip the group member with the techniques and confidence
to manage any future episodes.
