Making sure that people have a safe and comfortable environment to live in is a top priority for mental health services for older people. While every effort is made to support people in their own homes for as long as possible, sometimes circumstances make this impossible especially if the person involved lives alone.

All Nursing and Residential Homes are required by law to be registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) which publishes reports of its inspections on its website http://www.csci.org.uk/default.htm .
