Services Daycare The Alzheimer’s Society provides daycare on the following days:
The day begins at 10.30 am finishing at 3.00 pm. Transport can be provided. A hot luncheon is served at both centres and also coffee & tea. The day provides a break for carers and an opportunity for those attending to relax and socialise. The service is managed by our Daycare Manager and both centres are run by experienced trained staff who with the help of volunteers aim to provide a high quality service. Those attending will have the opportunity to enjoy a social day out and take part if they wish in activities of their choice. The needs of each person attending is assessed and an individual care plan is completed. Referrals must be made through your G.P., CPN, Social Services or self referrals provided there is a diagnosis of dementia.
Carer Support Service This service offers support to carers and ex-carers in need of friendship. Support can be by telephone contact or personal visit depending on individual needs. To contact direct telephone 01989 564456 or the Herefordshire Branch office on 01432 371137.
Companionship Clubs Monthly Companionship Clubs are held at:
The Clubs cater for carers and clients together. They are informal with time for conversation and light refreshments, quizzes, entertainment etc. The service is run by two members of staff plus volunteers For further details please contact the Carer Support Worker – telephone 01989 564456 or Branch office 01432 371137.
Befriending Service This service offers support to carers on a one to one basis. This can be in the home environment or at an agreed venue. For further information please contact the Carer Support Worker – telephone 01989 564456 or Branch office 01432 371137.
Carers Support & Drop-In The Carer’s Support and Drop-in meets on the first Tuesday of each month between 11.00 am – 1.00 pm at 49 Breinton Road. It is an opportunity to meet other carers, ex-carers and members to exchange and discuss experiences. Occasional speakers are invited on a variety of topics. Light refreshments are provided.
